Why choose a Custom Garage Floor?

Custom Garage Floors industrial epoxies and polyurethane have been made exclusively for us. Our products have been installed on thousands of garage floors and have been featured in model homes and the Seattle Street of Dreams.

How long does it take to install?

The installation process will take 2-3 days.

When can I park my car back in the garage?

Vehicles are to be kept off the floor for 2 days after completion of the granite-look system, and 5 days for the solid-look system. The floor will accept foot traffic within 24 hours, as long as it is not tacky. Heavier belongings, like a refrigerator or freezer, can be put back in the garage after 2 days.

Is polyurethane flammable?

Not in its cured state. All Custom Garage Floor epoxy systems are fire rated and safe to use in your home. This is one of the few coatings on the market that has been tested to meet or exceed Washington codes for garage surfaces. See UBC1997 312-5. If you choose another applicator, be sure their epoxies meet this code.

How can I tell if I have a moisture problem?

There are a few obvious signs of possible moisture problems. Vapor transmission often leaves a white salt-like powder on the floor. Also, look under boxes, rugs or doormats for trapped moisture. You can also tape all four sides of a plastic garbage bag to the floor and look under it after a few days to see if there is moisture trapped underneath.

I have a moisture problem. Will this seal my floor?

No, but we can direct you to contractors that do moisture proofing or recommend alternate flooring systems.

Will this product cover the cracks and imperfections in my floor?

We will repair and fill all major cracks at no extra charge. The "granite look" is the thickest floor system and will hide almost all imperfections. The solid floor system may not make them all disappear.

What do I have to do before you arrive?

We ask that everything on the floor be removed from the garage and not in front of the garage doors. The floor needs to be cleaned before the polymer coatings are installed and we don't want to get your belongings wet.

How long is your warranty?

All Custom Garage Floors epoxy/polyurethane floor systems carry a limited 3-year warranty from peeling and material defects.

How long will my floor last?

Under normal circumstances, your floor will last 7-10 years. After that, like any other painted surface, it will start to wear and lose its luster. At that point it can be recoated.

How is your product different than the floor paints/epoxies at my local hardware store?

Custom Garage Floors only uses industrial epoxies and polyurethanes. Retail products are not a high end epoxy. Couple our industrial epoxies with our years of experience in properly preparing concrete and you will get a floor that you'll enjoy for many years.
